The Veranda
Another apartment showing today. This one had two balconies. The one shown above was more like a large patio on the 17th floor! Guessing it was about 15ft x 20ft in size. Bigger than the Boothbay porch! It overlooked a choice part of the Marina with amazing views all around. The stats: 3bdrm, 4bath, 2167sq.ft. Home office, “maid’s room” (more on that bullshit later), 2 parking places (not sure we’ll even get a car). Storage room in the garage - maybe turn that into a speakeasy?
NOTE: It has come to my attention that some of you may be disheartened if I don’t respond to your comments. I will make an active effort to respond in the future. Two things: (1) I am new to this and didn’t think it I was supposed to respond (but will do more so now), (2) please try to post who you are, There is a place in the beginning of your post that prompts you for your name. Just type it in and continue (otherwise just sign your text). Hoping to grow this amongst our family and friends. Many more traveling adventures await. Next stop: Istanbul. Stay tuned!!
This was the master bath. Beautiful space but I clearly have to get in better shape before I exit the shower here!
That one looks amazing. Do you have a time frame in mind as to when you want to have made a decision on your apartment? Also have fun in Istanbul!
ReplyDeleteThis one had some awesome attributes but we are going with the other one. Move in on 15th of Oct
DeleteAndré. It's 11 PM and it is for to-morrow.A demain sur ton blok. André
ReplyDeleteIt is now 11 AM. J'ai bien dormi et j'ai pensé à ta chance. Cet appartement est très bien mais n'est-il pas trop grand. Bien sûre vous aurez beaucoup d'espace. La vue est imprenable. Et toi greg, travailles - tu avec Julie? André
ReplyDeleteSee above. (I responded to your comment in the wrong place)
DeleteMerci Greg, je crois que tu as bien raison de ne pas prendre le dernier que que vous avez vu. André
DeleteThere are a lot of cars here. Most people have them. We are putting that off for awhile. Will likely do weekly rentals as needed going into next year. Ubers and taxis have served us well. If it weren’t for the Arabic signs on the buildings, you’d think you’re in Miami
ReplyDeleteNot to big. We’re from the US so a lot of floor space is a comfort. Many nice attributes to this one but ultimately didn’t feel right. We are going with the other one. Regarding my work: I retired last mont from my job of the last 30 years. I don’t plan on working again, at least any time soon! Julie loves her job and my retirement allowed her to take the promotion and come to Dubai
ReplyDeleteJess and Mackenzie want to know.. what’s the maids room??
ReplyDeleteMany apartments have a maid’s room. It is a space for a live-in maid, usually very small and not very nice. Imagine a walk-in closet with a tiny bathroom attached. There are different classes of people here that are not always treated well. Most Americans and Europeans wouldn’t have a maid but it’s a thing in the Middle East (sometimes maybe just for status, like driving a fancy car)
