More Fun in Dubai

Image
Spent yesterday afternoon at Aura SkyPool on the Palm Jumeirah with our friends Mary and Junior.  Amazing location on the 50th floor, 200M high, with 360 degree views. It is the highest infinity pool in the world.  A bit of a cloudy day (odd for Dubai) but we did manage to see a decent sunset.  A gold camel at the Marina Mall next to our apartment. It’s here in celebration of Ramadan. It lights up at night as well. Today, we went to Jumeirah Beach and went to one of our fave lunch spots - Shimmers.  Greek restaurant on the beach overlooking the Burj Al Arab hotel.  Junior and me Grilled shrimp for lunch, complete with its own grill Complimentary chocolate cake to celebrate our upcoming 10 year anniversary Sculpture of traditional Arab teapot  Mary and Julie

Flying Home

Image
Close to 14 hours in the air with our flight back to Boston from Dubai.  We are returning for 2 weeks for our nephew Mike’s and Jessie’s wedding.  Caught the above shot toward the end of our flight, showing the tallest mountain in Maine with Moosehead Lake in the distance.  Mount Katahdin is 5270 feet tall (1606 meters), exactly 1 mile. Photo taken from 36,000 feet.  Leaving Dubai earlier in the day . . . . The Zagros mountains in Iran, which we seem to regularly fly over Settling in for the long flight home . . . . Emirates business class . . . Fresh cut flowers and unending champagne! Moosehead Lake (Maine) Cape Ann (Massachusetts) Boston, Massachusetts
