“The Greek Riviera”

Julie’s work meetings ended Thursday and we migrated down the coast to what has been nicknamed “The Greek Riviera.”  We went highend, staying at the Four Seasons in a little town called  Vouliagmeni, 17 miles (28km) south of Athens. Ideal, as it is only a 30 minute cab ride to the airport when we leave on Sunday. Above is the view from our room!  Below is the sunset view from dinner the other night Beautiful pool overlooking the water Our room . . .  Explored a neighboring town (Glyfada) and did some shopping. We quickly realized our hotel is the best venue in the area. Below is a cool old scooter adorning the entrance to a restaurant  Back at the hotel.  Some interesting wall art. Would love to see the bottle where this came from! Seafood hot dog Amazing dinner last night at Pelagos, the hotel’s Michelin star restaurant. 9 course meal paired with some tasty Greek wine.  Salmon ceviche  Some kind of fish mousse with caviar An assortment of odd but...

Spent the past couple of days wandering around the city. Above is a photo of the back side of the Parthenon as I stood below it. Below is another backside view of the Parthenon from the other side of the Acropolis  More Parthenon. Sorry for the repetition. One of those iconic world places and I’m looking at it from all angles Back of the Erechtheion. (You don’t see it but the Viagrathon is propping it up in the back) Theater of Dionysos National Observatory  Greek folk musicians. I think they were a couple Side street in the Plaka, a major tourist shopping neighborhood  Museum of the Acropolis.  When I was here in 1984, the museum was at the top next to the Parthenon.
