Last Day in Riyadh

Our final day in Riyadh.  Again, Julie worked in the local office and I attempted the tourist thing. Unfortunately, I got my timing off again and many of my destinations were closed or opening later in the day. We fly back to Dubai tonight.  Including some more pics of interesting buildings today.  The above photo is of the Al Majdoul Tower, similar to the one we have in Dubai but with more “twist”

This is the top of the Faisaliah Tower mentioned yesterday. Really bummed I couldn’t get up to the observation deck under the ball. Interesting fact though . . . The hotel at the base of the tower houses the royal family whenever they’re in town. I witnessed a ton of black cars and security.  Below are some additional buildings of unique design. However, I can’t tell you much about them.

Below is an outdoor water mister along the sidewalk, helping to cool off passers by. Nice little feature when you’ve got 100F+ temps!

    1. Yes, KSA is very competitive with Dubai. Hoping for some brew pubs soon! Ha Ha!
In Dubai, the developers have to show a unique design that will add to the skyline. No basic rectangle buildings

  2. André: Pays étrange avec tous ces bâtiments.
