Day in the Museum!

This was everything you think of when you think of an old  museum - dust everywhere, unopened crates in the corners, stone monuments to the ceiling.  Today, we visited the Egyptian Museum.  All of the artifacts you’ve seen in the history books are here, including King Tut’s treasures . . . . incredible!  Finished the afternoon with some Prosecco overlooking the Nile at the Ritz Carlton.

The rear & side view of King Tutankhamen’s funerary mask (the front is shown above).  King Tut was a relatively insignificant figure in Egyptian history. However, his tomb was discovered in 1922 untouched with all contents intact.  One of the only pharaonic tombs that could be 100% authentic and on display.

Hard to believe this face is 3300 years old!
